Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1710-1746.

Maple tall-case clock. The hood has a molded sarcophagus top with two turned ball-and-spire finials on plinths, a molded arch above the door, turned three-quarter columns at the front and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top and a case door with an astragal top and a circular glazed peephole. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, ogee molding at the bottom, and supported on straight bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and an applied dial indicating the age of the moon in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is an applied seconds dial, a calendar aperture, and brass scrollwork ornament with birds and a banner bearing an illegible inscription. The chapter ring is engraved "Peter Stretch." Eight day movement.
