Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1760-1775.

Walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a molded sarcophagus top with carved sold fret flanking a central turned finials, block plinths, turned three-quarter columns at the front corners, turned quarter columns at the rear corners, and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with cove molding at the top and a rectangular case door. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, ogee molding at the bottom and supported on straight bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals. Inside the chapter ring there is a calendar aperture. The chapter ring is signed "David Rittenhouse." Thirty hour movement.
