Tall case brass dial clock, 1788.

Mahogany bracket clock with a molded broken-scroll pediment terminating in carved gilt rosettes, three brass ball-and-spire finials, a cast brass handle at the top, sidelights, free-standing fluted columns at the four corners and a glazed door with an astragal top. Ogee molding at the bottom and supported on ogee bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals, arabic minute numerals and arabic numerals indicating the day of the month, engraved c-scrolls and acanthus leaves in the spandrels and lunette, and a silent/strike selector in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is the inscription "Made by Benjamin Rittenhouse for John Nicholson Eqr. Anno Domini 1788." Eight day movement.
