Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1765-1775.

Black walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a molded sarcophagus top with turned three-quarter columns at the front corners, turned quarter columns at the rear corners, and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with cove molding at the top and a rectangular case door. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, ogee molding at the bottom and supported on straight bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, and applied cast ornament in the spandrels. Inside the chapter ring there are engraved vines and leaves and an applied name plaque inscribed "B Rittenhouse Worcester." Thirty hour movement.
