Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1755-1775.

Walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a molded flat pediment with a molded cornice, turned engaged columns at the four corners, and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with cove and ogee molding at the top, chamfered front corners, and a case door with a carved shell at the top. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, fielded panel at the front, and cove and ogee molding at the bottom. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, and applied cast ornament in the spandrels. Inside the chapter ring there is a calendar aperture, punched ornament, an engraved star motif, and an applied name plaque engraved "Jacob Godshalk Philadelpha." Thirty hour movement.
