Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1760-1770.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with a molded pagoda top, three brass compressed-ball-and-spire finials on plinths, blind fretwork backed with cloth in the pagoda top and the tympanum, sidelights with astragal tops, fluted columns with brass capitals and bases at the front corners, and a glazed door with a molded edge and an astragal top. Waist with cove and ogee moldings at the top, fluted quarter columns with brass capitals and bases at the front corners, and a case door with a shaped top, concave bottom corners, and molded edge. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, fluted quarter columns with brass capitals and bases at the front corners, applied molding at the front, a shaped pendant drop and supported on ogee bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette and an applied name boss engraved "Gawen Brown Boston" in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is an applied seconds dial and a calendar aperture. Eight day movement.
