Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1760-1780.

Mahogany tall-case clock with ogee molded broken-scroll pediment terminating in carved rosettes with a central turned finial, flanking turned urn-and-spire finials, a molded arch above the door, arched sidelights, free-standing turned columns at the front corners, turned three-quarter columns at the back corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and an applied roundel in the lunette with the image of a sun. Inside the chapter ring there is an applied seconds dial, a calendar aperture, and a name plate engraved "Edwd Duffield Philad." Eight day movement.
