Tall case brass dial clock, 1786-1790.

Cherry tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with an elaborately sawn and shaped crest, turned free-standing columns at the four corners, arched sidelights, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top, plain turned quarter columns at the front corners, and a case door with ogee shaped top corners. Base with ogee molding at the top. Base section with plain turned quarter columns at the front corners, an applied base panel with ogee shaped top corners and supported on ogee bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved c-scrolls, acanthus leaves and flowers in the spandrels, engraved c-scrolls and acanthus leaves in the lunette surrounding the inscription "Daniel Burnap East Windsor." Inside the chapter ring there is engraved decoration, a seconds dial and a calendar aperture. "Elihu Colton" engraved on brass surface. Eight day movement.
