Tall case brass dial clock, 1750-1760.

Walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a molded flat pediment with an ovolo and cove molded sarcophagus top with three turned compressed-ball-and-spire finials, sidelights with astragal tops, turned three-quarter columns at the front corners, turned quarter columns at the back corners and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with cove molding at the top and a case door with an astragal top. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, and supported on spurred bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals. Inside the chapter ring there is an engraved ten-pointed star, punched decoration, a calendar aperture and an arched plaque with the inscription "Jacob Godshalk Towamencin." Thirty hour movement.
