Accessions include: Byfield Snuff Company, 1889-1926, which includes 164 volumes and 27 boxes of company records, correspondence, accounts, labels, etc. (85007); Jesse Smith Papers, a Salem, MA ship captain, which consist of correspondence to and from Smith, French documents pertaining to the Brig Fanny, which was captured by a French Privateer Ship, the Papillon, transcript for same, receipts, documents granting Smith guardianship to young children, and three 19th century newspapers, "The Sun" (Baltimore) 1841, "The Public Ledger" (Philadelphia) 1836, and "The American Beacon" (Norfolk) 1811 (85020); and a miscellaneous group of manuscripts including an ALS Wendell Phillips, n.d. and letters to Henry Wheatland between 1837-1843 (85029).
