Pitman Studio fabricated dioramas based on events in American history. Collection includes letters from Allen French, research, and sketches and drawings (flags, uniforms, etc.) for dioramas commissioned by the First National Bank of Boston depicting the Battle of Bunker Hill (1930-1948), correspondence regarding the design and fabrication of a display case for the forestry hall at the American Museum of Natural History (1940-1942), and correspondence and research on uniforms worn at the naval battle between the Constitution and Guerriere (ca. 1932).
