Edward Snyder papers, 1863-1917.

Correspondence and other documents relating to the service of Edward Snyder, 23rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, Company A. The correspondence consists of original letters and typescript copies between Snyder and his first wife (November 1864-July 1865). Also included is a letter from Henry Vilas regarding pensions, a reprint of a letter from Geo. D. Kellogg entitled "Letter from Vicksburg Trenches in 1863," discharge papers for Snyder, pension plan certificates and affidavits, reunion bulletins for gatherings at Camp Randall (1912, 1917), Chapter XXXI of the regimental history of the 23rd, membership materials to G.A.R. Appomattox Post No. 50, and one photo of Snyder.
