Thanking her for a "nice little souvenir" she sent him; reporting that Mrs. Nathan Appleton has been in Newport; saying that they are glad Davie is happy in Andover; inviting her to visit them in Nahant in July; mentioning shared acquaintances; sending greetings from his wife and noting that Mrs. Longfellow also wrote to Davie.
