Legal agreements by which J.C. Treadwell, master of the American ship, Aeolus of Portsmouth, N.H., chartered the vessel to Messrs. Wissman & Lorent, merchants, of Charleston, S.C. for the shipment of rice from Charleston to European ports; includes list of names of men in the crew, ages, and physical descriptions, plus their cities or residence, nationalities, and wages paid signed by Treadwell, his mate, and ten seamen. Capt. Treadwell may possibly be Jacob Cutter Treadwell (1775-1852) of Portsmouth, N.H.
