Early photographs. [ca. 1970]

The seven photographs by Nobuyoshi Araki are early examples of his intimate fictive photography. The photographs depict: a couple in kimonos kneeling in a small room with tatami mats; a bird's-eye view of two nudes reclining on the floor; a semi-nude woman in dark lace stockings seated on the floor; a bird's-eye view of a semi-nude woman reclining on a futon; a topless woman holding a soft-drink bottle against her cheek; a close-up of a young woman in pigtails, contorting her face; and a reclining nude, with a left male arm (probably the photographer's) reaching into the frame and squeezing her breast.

7 photographic prints : gelatin silver ; 14.2 x 23.3 cm. or smaller.
