Collection includes various papers from the Myrick family, including letters from Samuel R. Thurston, 1850 Oct. 26 and Wilson Blain, 1851 Feb. 25, to Benjamin Franklin McLench; handwritten obituary of Mary Almira Gray McLench, wife of Benjamin and an early school teacher in Polk County, by her friend Elizabeth M. Wilson; letter from Frank G. McLench, son of Benjamin, to George Himes, 1932 Mar. 5, with an account of family history; two versions of Mary Almira Gray McLench's typed reminiscences of her trip to Oregon with a group of four other teachers, sent to Oregon as coordinated by former Governor of Vermont William Slade and an agency known as the National Board of Popular Education, 1901 and 1907; and a typed obituary for Mary Almira Gray McLench.
