Avery Fischer Johnson was born in Wheaton, Illinois on April 3, 1906. He graduated with a B.A. from Wheaton College in 1928, and he graduated from the Chicago Art Institute in 1933. He worked for the Office of War Information from 1944 to 1945, and he taught at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts from 1947 to 1960. His art is represented in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Newark Museum, the Phillbrook Museum, and the Library of Congress. His work is also rep...
