Comprising 87 names in two columns headed by the Earl of Essex and drawn up in order of rank, five names are incomplete and the Earls of Bedford and Sussex and Lord Rich are included with the marginal note "theis 3: comitted but not openly p[ro]claymed." Includes notes on Essex in a later hand in pencil on 2v.

Frederick of Mömpelgard (d. 1608) became the Duke of Württemberg in 1593. Robert, Earl of Essex (1586-1601) was a favorite of Elizabeth I, Queen of England, and occupied a variety of military posts.
