The collection consists of a mix of gelatin silver prints and photographic postcards documenting New Orleans, plantation homes and grounds in Louisiana and Mississippi, scenes along the Mississippi River, and scenes in Kentucky. Most of the images include holographic information on the verso in English and French.

Charlotte Cheney McMorran (1900-1991) was born and died in Port Huron, Mich. The daughter of David Williams and Charlotte Cheney Holden McMorran, Charlotte enjoyed the privileged live of the upper class, attending the Liggett School in Detroit and Pine Manor. She was then sent abroad to "finish" her education.
