Financial records and correspondence of members of the Carroll family of Thompson, Connecticut, namely Wyman, Elijah and Adams P. Carroll. Adams Carroll's papers primarily relate to genealogical research and research on the family coat of arms. The collection includes non-Carroll family materials, such as a legal complaint, a deed, an apprenticeship indenture and tax lists for the town of Thompson. An assortment of items, including correspondence, an estate inventory, two religious writings, and an incomplete document requesting someone to appear before the church society to give testimony in a complaint against Eliphalet Nott of Franklin, Connecticut, were found with the collection and are filed at the end. Their relationship to the other documents is unknown.
