Autograph letter signed : St. Leonards on Sea [i.e. Hastings], to Noel Moore, 1898 Dec. 23.

Apologizing for not having sent Christmas cards, and recounting her attempt to get some that day. Describing the sea and the ships and boats she has seen. Mentioning that "men sell quantities of fish in the streets," noting "I never saw such a mixture, all sorts of colours." Reporting that the man driving her in a chair told her that he had caught "conger eels 20 feet long" and that this made her laugh. With a few small sketches of a huge eel chasing a man from a boat, three fish rowing a boat, and a few ships on the horizon. With a postscript promising to "draw some better pictures next time."
