A lecture delivered 1987 May 14, by Robert C. Vose, at the Somerset Club, Boston, Mass. Vose recalls some of the major American paintings sold by the Vose Galleries. He speaks of the thirty to forty year cycles in popularity and prices of American paintings, and of leading collectors, particularly Maxim Karolik.
