Milner Shriver Ball, son of Edward and Lucy Ball, studied at Princeton (1958, bachelor's), Harvard (1961, divinity) and the University of Georgia (1971. law). He is an ordained Presbyterian minister and came to Athens as a campus minister in 1966. As a law student, he served as editor in chief of the Georgia Law Review and graduated first in his class.
