Leslie Mann Correspondence 1929 - 1947. 1947.

A collection of correspondence primarily to and from Leslie Mann. Leslie Mann became the secretary-treasurer of the Amateur Athletic Federation in 1929. In 1932, this federation combined with the US Amateur Baseball Association and the Municipal Baseball Association, became the USA Baseball Congress. Mann was the executive vice-president. In 1936, during the Olympic games in Berlin, the International Baseball Congress was created with 21 nations joining. Correspondence also includes All-World team vs. US Olympic team as a demonstration sport. In 1939, the International Amateur Baseball Federation had a tournament in Havana, Cuba.

Leslie Mann was a professional baseball player who played outfield in the Major Leagues from 1913-1928. After retiring as a player, Mann became an advocate for baseball as an international sport. He founded the U.S.A. Baseball Congress. Mann went on to found the International Baseball Federation, which organized an international championship in England in 1938.
