Dewitt Clinton Clarke correspondence, 1842-1850.

Correspondence of Clarke, as quartermaster general with Emerson R. Wright, quartermaster of the 6th Regiment, concerning muskets held by the light infantry company of Whiting and Cornwall and proposed repairs to those weapons by Orrin Abbey; letter to Clarke from Major Hiram D. Smith of the 8th Regiment correcting and explaining accounts submitted earlier; and letter from Clarke as secretary of the Vermont Senate to the publisher of the Christian Repository (Montpelier, Vt.) requesting that the subscriptions of three senators be continued for the remainder of the session.
