John C. Waters was a local historian from Murray, Kentucky. He was born in October of 1908 at Hohenwald, Tennessee. His parents relocated to Murray when he was child. He attended local public schools and graduated from Murray High School in 1926. Following graduation, he worked for an oil business in Calloway County and later as assistant superintendant of maintenance and operations at Murray State University. Nathan Bowman Stubblefield was an American inventor from Murray, Kentucky during the latter part of the 19th Century and early part of the 20th Century. He was born at Murray on November 22, 1860. In his youth he was tutored by a governess and later attended a boarding school in Farmington, Kentucky. He also was self-educated in the field science.
