Thanking him for his letter that gave him "all the information [he wants]" about Japan; saying he will take King's advice and stay at the Imperial in Tokyo; noting that he looks forward to seeing King but doesn't want to "make a nuisance of [him]self"; adding that he "find[s] it very trying" when his friends come to visit and "expect [him] to throw away all [his] own occupations and devote [him]self completely to their comfort and amusement."
