Peter B. Kyne letter to Mr. Meconnahey, 1932 Dec. 2.

Kyne writes to Mr. Meconnahey (possibly a teacher?) recommending several of his works as good reading for boys. He mentions Captain Scraggs or The green pea pirates, They also serve, The parson of Panamint, Kindred of the dust, and The valley of the giants. He also notes that They also serve (1926), a story about the horses and mules in the field artillery of the American Expeditionary Forces, successfully sold at a time when book dealers were no longer interested in war stories. The letter is typescript on the author's personal letterhead and signed.
