Clark family account books and diary, 1767-1821.

Two account books and a diary kept by members of the Clark family of Chatham, Connecticut. The earliest volume (1767-1792) was used as an account book in Chatham and as a journal on the sloop Friendship from Nantucket to Newfoundland. The middle volume (1783-1812) contains records for farming, John Clark's service as Justice of the Peace, and shoe making. The final volume is a diary (1814-1821).
