Burlington Female Seminary account book, 1848-1858, 1868.

Account book that appears to have belonged to John K. Converse, recording financial transacations relating to the Burlington Female Seminary while he was in partnership with Buel W. Smith. The bulk of the account book relates to the dissolution of the partnership and contains a "Memorandum of errors in B.W.S.'s charges on settlement" that refers to another account book. The account book also contains a few pages of accounts dating from 1868, showing payments on life insurance premiums to the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York, which was represented in Burlington by Buel W. Smith as a special agent.
