This collection is mainly comprised of land transactions relating to Moses Muzzey. It contains a deed dated 1795-1797 detailing a land sale transaction to Moses Muzzey from John Barron, who was originally sold the remaining unsettled land in Bradford, VT by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont in 1791. Also included is a document with an inventory of the property of the estate of Moses Muzzey of Bradford, VT dated July 10th, 1839. Additionally a receipt from the treasurer's office in Woodstock dated the 6th of June, 1803 denotes tax paid by Moses Muzzey. A land transfer deed signifies the sale of a tract of land in Topsham, VT from Reuben Gleason to Comfort Fuller of Royalston, Massachusetts dated the 18th of November, 1806. Another deed describes the sale of a tract of land in Bradford, VT from Andrew Post of Lebanon, New Hampshire to Moses Muzzey and Jeremiah Tabor of Bradford, VT dated December 25, 1810. Edward Pratt bought a tract of land in Bradford, VT from Gardner Kellogg on September 14th, 1811, which was then sold to Moses Muzzey on August 16th, 1813 according to two more land deeds. Moses Muzzey later purchased land in Bradford, VT from William Pratt on August 26th, 1824. Andrew A. Sweet sold a tract of land in Bradford, VT to Moses Muzzey on December 14, 1824. Ephraim Bartlett sold a piece of land in Bradford, VT to Moses Muzzey on August 8th, 1826. Moses Muzzey also bought a tract of land in Dalton, New Hampshire from Samuel Willard of Dalton, New Hamsphire on July 5th, 1827. On April 1st, 1835 Moses Muzzey purchased land in Bradford, VT from Albert Heath of Bradford, VT. Also included in the collection is a tax bill dated April 25th, 1837 addressed to the Surveyor of Highways, Moses Muzzey, authorizing him to collect taxes in specific amounts from nine landowners in Bradford, VT for the purpose of making and repairing roads and bridges. There is also a short biographic description of John Rand of Topsham, VT who served under Capt. Sargent for three months in 1776.
