[State Education Building dedication procession] [ca. 1912]

View of a long procession of men and some women in academic robes walking down the street past throngs of onlookers of all ages. Slingerland's Grocery, visible across the street from the procession, was located at 86-88 Washington Avenue (near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Swan Street) in Albany N.Y. according to the Albany city directory for 1910-1911, which places the procession facing west in front of the State Education Building. The photographer shot this image from the steps of the State Education Building, but the building itself is not visible. The image is undated but must have been taken during the State Education Building's dedication in November 1912.

1 photograph : b&w ; 19 x 15 cm., on mount 26 x 20 cm.
