The collection contains letters to Elijah Kent Hubbard from his parents and friends, 1823-1833, as well as a letter from Elijah's father to President Day of Yale University, 1830. There are miscellaneous papers relating to Alden Partridge, 1826-1827, and to Middlebury College, 1831-1832, as well as assorted bills and receipts, 1828-1833. Elijah K. Hubbard was born in Middletown, CT, and attended school in West Haven, CT. From May 1826 until August 1827, he attended the American Literary, Scientific and Military Academy (forerunner of Norwich University), which was then located in Middletown, CT.
