Miscellaneous items from the Office of Admissions [manuscript], 1963-1982.

The collection contains a four year statisical comparison of entering classes, 1960-1963; and a program and staff/speaker list for the Summer Institute on College Admissions, 1963. The collection contains admissions applications, reference forms and instructions, 1971, 1976, 1982; welcome letters from Dean of Admissions John T. Casteen and Robert T. Canevari, Dean of Students with a student information form to be filled out; advanced placement notice; an announcement about ramifications of the Buckley Amendment (20 U.S.C. & 1232-g), 1976; a suggested reading list for new students, circa 1963; and an invitation to accepted students to visit classes, 1976. The collection also contains one issue of "Virginia News Notes," 1981, a compilation of clippings about the University of Virginia excerpted from various Virginia newspapers and magazines. Topics include Ralph Sampson, George Starks, Jr., the new Black Studies Institute, the first annual PEN Faulkner award and a Celebration of Women. The Collection also contains an undated brochure "Advanced Placement Programs at the University of Virginia."
