The collection contains papers pertaining to the Minute Men of '40, a national organization formed to campaign for a Selective Service Act; assorted Selective Service forms, lists and information; recollections of Pearl Harbor day at the University by Keister Greer; a copy of Robert Maynard Hutchins's address to students at the University of Chicago "The relation of the university and its students to the war"; a form letter from Raymond Uhl to fellow air craft observers that he has assumed duties of chief Observer for Observation Post 74-M; a program form the memorial service for Franklin D. Roosevelt held at the Cabell Hall; Harry Clemon's copy of the V-J day issue of "College Topics" bearing the caption "World rejoices....while U. Va. studies"; and Captain Edgar M. Williams's speech presenting a plaque to the University of Virginia for its war time training of naval officdrs. Keister Greer's recollections also include his memories of watching "Gone With the Wind" at the University.
