The collection contains an article on Bishop Noble C. Powell, who served at St. Paul's Memorial Church in Charlottesville and in Ragged Mountain missions; an article on the 116th Virginia Infantry which included National Guard members from Charlottesville; an article on the U. S. Frigate Charlottesville; and an article listing the names of 68 city and county men who had died in the war from Pear Harbor through October, 1944, together with the dates and places of death. Among those listed are Henry J. Clemons, son of the University of Virginia librarian and Frank G. Peregoy, whose monument is erected in the traffic island next to Memorial Gymnasium.
