Joseph Emerson Worcester letters [manuscript], 1821, 1861.

In a letter 1821 September 14, to the Rev. Samuel Gilman Worcester writes concerning corrections for the description of Charleston in his gazetteer, and reasons for the delay in publication. Also responds to inquiries on deaths among family and friends. In a letter, 1861 December 5, to William A. Wheeler, Worcester mentions the receipt of a letter enclosing the title page and specimen from Wheeler's proposed dictionary. Explains at length why he is unable to lend money for the project.
