Letters concerning the Lyman Draper papers [manuscript], 1887, 1957.

In a letter, 1887 April 12, Mary Starling Payne writes to Lyman Draper describing all the Lewis family papers in her possession. In a letter, 1957 May 3, Dorothy Thomas Cullen of the Filson Club writes to Prentiss Price concerning a gift of "valuable old letters" made by Mrs. Payne to the Club, noting that the collections of the Club were intermixed with the papers of its president, Col. R. T. Durrett which were "unexpectedly" sold to the University of Chicago.
