Letter from N. A. Brooks to his father [manuscript], 1863 May 15.

Brooks, a member of Cobb's Georgia Legion writes to his father about passing through Charlottesville on the march for Gordonsville and seeing Monticello at a distance. He notes "Gen. Jackson is no more. His remains passed through town yesterday; they firred two cannons in honor of the illustrious dead; but he ceases to hear the cannon's deafening roar."
