Papers of the Sitwell family, 1914-1999.

The collection contains a typed copy of Arthur Bean's "A Bio-bibliography of Dame Edith Sitwell (1887-1964). With the manuscript are typed copies of Dame Edith's correspondence with Bryher, 1940-1960, with Arnold Bennett, 1920-1928; Sir Osbert's correspondence with Samuel Chotzinoff, 1948-1963, Edith and Osbert correspndence with John Lehmann, 1945-1959; and Sitwell family correspondence with other literary figures of note, 1914-1967; assorted clippings on the Sitwell family; and two audio cassettes: a "Hooked on Books" [radio show?] segment, 1979, with Arthur Bean on the Sitwells, and Dame Edith reading her poetry.

Bryher (1894-1983) was a British author best known for her historical novels, including The Fourteenth of October (1952) and Coin of Carthage (1962), and her autobiographical writings.
