Davis to Trist discussing various business deals including sales of printing presses and books; a list of printing equipment is at the end of the letter; writes "If I get the Marshalship, though I would be glad to remain here till the 1st of Aug[ust] to finish the Jefferson works yet, if it were necessary for me to go to Washington sooner, I would do it;" Includes two typed transcripts of letter, one with notated corrections.
