Rear Admiral Henry Walke, a native of Virginia, compiled a scrapbook of newspaper clippings, chiefly from the Army and Navy Journal and the Episcopal Recorder. Clippings pertain to the Episcopal Church, the Civil War, and military matters including the effects of the Civil War, financial condition of the Navy, Grant, Sherman and other war heroes, forts and battles, naval vessels, military uniforms, ballistic development experiments, obituary notices of Navy personnel and accounts of veteran meetings (the Loyal Legion).
