Director's minutes [manuscript] 1828-51.

Official records of the directors' meetings of the company formed to open the Rivanna River to navigation in Fluvanna, and Albemarle Cos. Topics considered are: acquisition of the rights of the Rivanna Co., legal troubles including a suit of Thomas Jefferson with the Rivanna Co., the claims of millers along the river, share-holders lists and transfers of stocks, the proposed navigational improvements including inspections of the river and lock sites, financial reports, repairs, construction contracts, the annual stock-holders' meetings, and general business of the directors. Chief officials were: Daniel F. Carr, Martin Dawson, Thomas Macon, William A. Meriwether, Hugh Nelson, and Thomas Jefferson Randolph.
