The postcards depict Monticello, the University of Virginia lawn, ranges and walls, hospital, Cobb Laboratory, Lambeth Stadium, Madison Hall, Minor Hall, Rotunda, and Washington Hall. The collection also contains postcards of pencil caricatures of physicians by Shankel including Meredith Aldrich, Charles J. Frankel, Edwin P. Lehman, Bruce Morton, Henry B. Mulholland, D. C. Smith, Oscar Swineford, Jr., Samuel A. Vest, James A. Waddell, and David C. Wilson. There are also several clippings on University of Virginia topics including the burial of the school mascot Seal.
