Stubbs, comments on MacDonald Lee's "political death" after the Democratic convention removed him from the state committee; and letter, 1927 Oct. 27, to William G. Holman, asks confirmation of the rumor that Thomas Fortune Ryan was putting Harry Byrd for board of the presidency and commenting that Carter Glass had hurt himself with the Virginia electorate by allowing his name to remain for so long as a candidate during the Democratic National Convention.
