Correspondence regarding Callender Irvine and the Irvine family [manuscript] 1961.

Correspondence discusses American Heritage's portrayal of Callender Irvine on the television drama "The practical dreamer," 1961. A transcript of a letter, 1823, from Mary Bullen Irvine Lewis on the death of her mother, Ann Callender Irvine, is included. With the correspondence is a transcript of a letter from Bernard Bee, 1861 June 27, to Lieutenant Thomas S. Mills concerning a staff position which will be available if the "War lasts until Fall," and noting "We are waiting patiently for the next move of the enemy, having checked him severely by the move from Harpers Ferry. Beauregard will probably have the first fight."
