Petition to the General Assembly [manuscript] 1827 Jan. 17.

Petition to the General Assembly praying that the Giuseppe Ceracchi bust of Thomas Jefferson be purchased from his estate and placed at the University. The petition is signed by numerous distinguished citizens of the county including John A. G. Davis, Robley Dunglison, A. S. Brockenbrough, James Dinsmore, Frank Carr, Samuel Carr, and Isaac Coles as well as John H. Cocke.
