The last slaver [manuscript] : typescripts, 1936.

Three versions of the movie script The last slaver, on which Faulkner worked. Version one, 1936 September 24, stamped "Temporary" contains initials "D.Z." and name "Dorothy" on cover. The script is a 144-p. mimeograph copy, heavily annotated in pencil on the title and first page with infrequent penciled notations throughout. It includes a typewritten two-page inter-office memorandum listing several suggestions from Nunally Johnson to Darryl F. Zanuck on which Zanuck has marked reactions. Version two, 1936 October 10, sub-captioned "Revised Temporary Draft" has initials "D.Z." pencilled on cover. It is a 157-page original typescript and is heavily annotated, perhaps by Zanuck. Version three, 1936 October 10, is stamped "Revised Temp." on cover. It is a 144-page mimeograph copy prepared in a separate typing from the preceding, resulting in variant formatting of the text.
