Letters, 1847-48, from Agassiz to unidentified recipients concern his recent illness and a course of lectures he is planning. Letters, 1879-87, from Alexander Agassiz to his son George Russell Agassiz? concern the father's decision to decline a position and his reaction to Richard Theodore Ely's article criticizing the operation of his Michigan copper mine. The collection also contains an engraving of Agassiz.
