Letter to the Osage, Missouri, Kansas, Otoes, Pawnees, Pocas and Sioux [manuscript], 1803 March 6.

Jefferson addresses the Indians who had travelled to Washington after the Louisiana purchase. He reviews the Louisiana purchase, and the Lewis and Clark expedition. He urges them to be at peace with one another, encourages the entourage to visit other cities, and pledges his friendship.
